While regulation has helped to minimize the use of lead in and around households,
the continued contamination of lead in our society maintains staggering statistics:

  • Approx. 38 million homes in the U.S. contain lead; 25 million are hazardous
  • Almost two-thirds of those with hazardous conditions are middle income
    families.
  • Of the 28 million hazardous conditions, 5.6 million have children under the
age of six living inside them.
  • Disturbing paint through renovations and remodeling increases the overall risk
    of lead poisoning
  • The Center for Disease Control and Prevention lead poisoning statistics show
an estimated 890,000 U.S. children ages one to five have elevated blood lead
    levels.
